45mm Chameleon XLC
The widest lens in the XLC Series, the 45mm delivers expansive coverage across large-format sensors while maintaining a natural sense of perspective. Ideal for environmental storytelling, landscapes, and establishing shots, it captures scale and depth with the refined anamorphic character and optical consistency that define the Chameleon range.

CALDWELL CHAMELEON XLC Series
CHAMELEON XLC (EXTRA LARGE COVERAGE) IS AN ANAMORPHIC SERIES OFFERING 36 × 48 MM COVERAGE (=60 MM IMAGE CIRCLE). WITH A 1.79x SQUEEZE, XLC LENSES MAKE FULL USE OF A 33 × 44 SENSOR AREA TO DELIVER A 2.39:1 CINEMASCOPE IMAGE. ALL FOCAL LENGTHS SHARE IDENTICAL SIZE, A STANDARD PL MOUNT, AND MATCHED FOCUS AND IRIS GEAR POSITIONS WITH THE CHAMELEON SC SERIES.
The XLC Series represents a new development in large-format anamorphic lenses. The XLC Series combines the immersive scale of large-format imaging with the refined character of classic anamorphic optics. The Caldwell Chameleon Series is the result of over a decade of precision optical R&D. Mechanically and optically optimised, the lenses feature minimal breathing, zero focus shift, aerospace-grade tolerances, and carefully balanced anamorphic rendering. The series delivers exceptional imagery with elegant flare characteristics, controlled contrast, refined oval bokeh, and the signature Chameleon colour balance. Reduced moiré characteristics also make the lenses highly suited to virtual production environments. In keeping with the Chameleon design philosophy, all the extra Large Coverage focal lengths share identical mechanics, a standard PL mount, and matched focus and iris gear positions with the Chameleon SC Series for seamless integration across productions.
